As the demo proceeded, the dreaded water damage reared its ugly head. By the time the discovery and rebuilding processes were complete, we were two months [and a good bit of money!] into the project with no renovations even begun. It was a bit disheartening, but we consoled ourselves with the knowledge that once finished, she would be better than new and beautiful.
We ended up having to remove part of the outer shell under the LR windows in order to piece in a new section of subfloor for the living room. Although it was totally frustrating, it was interesting to realize that the trailer was built from the floor up. The walls were on top of the vinyl, so the floor of the trailer was totally completed before any walls went up. Thank goodness hubby is amazingly talented at troubleshooting and figuring out how to fix things!
