Things have been quite busy for us the past few months! Our daughter was married on Nov. 22, so of course the rest of the summer and the fall were full of plans. Glad to say the wedding was wonderful and the happy couple is settling into marriage now.
The week after the wedding, we made the 4 1/2 hour trip to their home to deliver the wedding gifts and take his vehicle to the airport, so they could return back home after the honeymoon(in Jamaica!). Of course, Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly followed, and we hosted small family groups for both holidays.
New Year's Eve included open heart surgery for my husband, followed by six days in the hospital. We are now in the recovery stages of that experience, which went well. He had an aortic valve replacement done, but happily, no bypasses!
Our next big jaunt includes heading west to the Grand Canyon and we started laying out our trip today. This is as far as we got in our planning, before hubby got too tired to continue. We have planned our trip to the Canyon, now to decide exactly how much we want to do after that before heading back home. We are thinking we will be on the road for 3 or 4 months, if all goes well.
Hoping to get to Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam, as well as including time in some of the National Parks in that part of the country. We want to go to Bryce Canyon, but have not gotten much further in our thought process. We hope to be traveling with 3 other couples, all family members on the hubby's side, who all are retired as well and have motor coaches. Not sure how much of the trip the others will do, but we all plan to at least be together at the Canyon itself.
